I’ve really enjoyed using LottieFiles, but their pricing model and purchasing experience have been incredibly frustrating. It feels like they’re intentionally making things difficult for individual users while maintaining a monopoly over animated assets. Major concerns: • Lack of upfront pricing transparency – Nowhere during checkout is the total cost clearly displayed. You only see the final charge after payment is processed. This feels like a classic dark pattern. • Unreasonable subscription model – There’s no option for a monthly plan or one-time purchase. The only way to download certain assets is to commit to a $180/year subscription, which is excessive for users who only need a few icons. • Ignoring user needs – Many have voiced concerns about this pricing structure, yet LottieFiles has made it clear they have no plans to change it. It’s disappointing to see customer feedback being disregarded. New features and an exciting roadmap mean little if core accessibility issues remain unaddressed. I truly hope LottieFiles reconsiders its approach, as right now, it feels like they prioritize control over user experience.
