Can you include a function that in prototype mode the inserted SVG's are replaced by a GIF rendering? So you could see the animation in the prototype tool. That would be awesome!

Recently we've introduced a new feature in our Figma plugin where you can take a static asset (eg: SVG) and convert it to a Lottie animation (i.e. animate it), and insert it to your design as a GIF.
This is exactly what you've asked for. We hope you enjoy using the feature.

Paul Finanzguru Thank you for your feedback. We'll consider that for our future updates to the Figma Plugin.

In the meantime, you can use our SVG to Lottie tool (https://lottiefiles.com/svg-to-lottie) that enables you to convert an SVG to a Lottie animation, and upload it to your Previews. Once you do that, you can go back to the Figma Plugin, and import that animation as a GIF.
